Baptisms

The act of baptism is meant to represent the washing away of one's sins. It's like a prayer, except everyone can see you doing it. This symbolizes the disciples’ own baptism, as stated in John 3. The practice also stems from Romans 6, which says Christians are “buried with him through baptism into death so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
